The Gant Daily athlete of the week for March 12 through 19 is Clearfield High School swimmer Shay Flanagan.
Flanagan broke the school record in the 500 freestyle on his way to a 4th place medal at the PIAA AA swim states held at Bucknell University.
He also placed high enough in the 200 free to garner Honorable Mention status.
Honorable mention from Gant Daily for the week goes to Flanagan\’s teammate Steve Williams.
Competing in the 1-meter diving event, Williams performed well enough to earn 15th in the state.
