Litz Bridge Detour Planned This Month

CLEARFIELD – A detour around the Litz bridge will start March 19, as work to replace the bridge gets under way.

The Litz Bridge spans Clearfield Creek on state Route 153, about two miles south of the SR 153/SR 2023 intersection in Lawrence Township. The current bridge will be closed and a seven-mile detour will be in place. The detour will follow SR 2023 (Glen Richey Highway) and SR 2024, through the village of Dimeling.

Francis J. Palo Inc. of Clarion is the contractor on the $2.8 million project.

PennDOT expects work to finish by mid-October. All work is weather dependent, including the start date of the detour.

PennDOT reminds drivers to follow detour signs, obey posted speed limits and to always buckle up.
