CLEARFIELD – A fourth person of the five arrested last April was sentenced on felony drug charges Monday.
Amber Ickes, 20 of Clearfield, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, cocaine. For that charge, she was fined $750 plus prosecution costs, was placed on three years probation and is to serve 12 months in Clearfield County Jail. Ickes also pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. She was fined $250 plus prosecution costs and was placed on two years probation to run consecutive to the previous sentence.
On April 5 police officers raided an apartment on Park Avenue and found large amouts of heroin, cocaine and marijuana. The estimated value of the drugs seized was $5,000. Police also seized a stolen handgun and $3,000 in cash.
Prior to her sentence Ickes told the Clearfield County Judge Paul E. Cherry that she accepted responsibility for her crimes and that she had been addicted to drugs, which led to her selling drugs.
“I never meant to disrespect of hurt this community,” said Ickes.
She went on to say that she took full advantage of the learning and counseling opportunities available to her at CCJ.
“You’re recognition of your wrongdoing goes a long way with this court,” Cherry told Ickes. “I hope that when you get out our paths don’t cross again.”
Rason Battle and Mario Cumberbatch, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Lee Jackson of Pittsburgh all pled guilty to felony drug possession.
Battle will serve nine months to two years in prison. Cumberbatch will serve 184 days to two years in prison. Jackson will be in prison for two to seven years.
Clearfield resident Trevor Sheaffer has yet to be sentenced.
