Drifting Man Accused of Aggravated Assault

KARTHAUS – A Drifting man was taken to jail in relation to an alleged aggravated assault on Sunday.

According to Clearfield-based state police, the 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old Alport woman were arguing when the the man grabbed the woman and banged her head off of a bathtub several times. He then pushed her to the floor and kicked her in the ribs and head area several times. The woman was able to flee to a neighbor’s residence to get help.

The woman was treated at Clearfield Hospital for injuries to her head, shoulders and knee area.

A short time later, two people allegedly assaulted the Drifting man at a residence in Karthaus. Police report the Drifting man was hit in the head several times and kicked in the head and ribs. He was able to flee the residence and phone emergency medical services for help. He was taken to Clearfield Hospital for treatment.

The man was incarcerated in Clearfield County Jail on an alleged probation violation in relation to the incident.

Both cases are under investigation.

Charges are pending.
