CURWENSVILLE – A memorial service will be held March 11 for a former football and baseball coach at Curwensville Joint High School.
Al Brown coached football and baseball teams for seven seasons from 1953 through 1960. He passed away Dec. 24 in Palm City, Fla.
He was one of the most successful coaches in the school’s history with a 47-21-1 record in football and 55-15 in baseball. His 1958 grid team was 10-0 and Western Conference co-champion with Lewistown. He also had an unbeaten baseball team (11-0) in 1956.
A memorial service is planned for March 11 at 1 p.m. at Riverside Stadium.
