Morris Announces Candidacy for County Commissioner

CLEARFIELD – Janet Morris, Republican, of Kylertown has announced her candidacy for Clearfield County Commissioner.

Mrs. Morris is currently working at Comfort Inn of Clearfield where she has managed the hotel for 9 years out of the 10 years she has been employed there.

In 1983, Morris graduated from Brownsville Area High School with a diploma in business, and in 1990, she graduated from Clearfield Beauty Academy with a cosmetology teacher’s license. In 1997, Morris graduated from DuBois Business College with an associate’s degree in specialized business in computers applications/management.

While employed at Comfort Inn, Morris has attended many classes on management, sales, marketing, etc., which contributes to the skills necessary to perform the job of commissioner.

Morris has been on the board of governors for the Clearfield Chamber of Commerce for almost two years and also is a board member of the Clearfield County Recreation and Tourism Authority for over a year now, where she is a representative for the Clearfield area hotels on the Hotel Tax Committee.

Morris has a vision for the future of Clearfield County, to see its many assets work in conjunction with new industry and job opportunities that will be generated in the years to come.

When elected to the county commissioner seat, she will use her management and leadership skills to promote the many municipalities “to be all they can be” with the help of the state and federal agencies.

“This county is about changing, change is good, and change is now,” Morris said. “Clearfield County needs to change aggressively too keep up with the times and she is just the one to promote it.”
