CLEARFIELD – After hearing from a reader over the weekend, GantDaily contacted Clearfield Hospital Monday morning with questions regarding whether Dr. Amer Khouri was still an employee at the hospital.
GantDaily asked the hospital whether there was a release on why Khouri left, what is being done until a replacement is found, and any other helpful information on the issue.
Clearfield Hospital responded with the following statement:
Clearfield Hospital has reached an agreement with the medical oncologists of Oncology Hematology Associates of Northern Pennsylvania to provide medical oncology and hematology care at the Nathaniel D. Yingling, M.D., Cancer Center.
The doctors of Oncology Hematology Associates of Northern Pennsylvania have been affiliated with Hahne Regional Cancer Center of DuBois Regional Medical Center since the early 1990s. The medical oncologists of Oncology Hematology Associates of Northern Pennsylvania are Hazem F. El-Kassas, M.D., Carmine C. Marchioli, M.D., Kevin A. Mullins, D.O., and Mercedes Lindsey, M.D.
Our agreement with them will enable Clearfield Hospital to expand services at the cancer center by adding a new service — on-call coverage during off-hours. Communication about these physicians has been made to the medical staff, hospital staff and affected patients.
