DUBOIS – After delivering the DuBois Fire Department’s statistics for 2006, outgoing Chief Anthony “Bubs” Suplizio received thanks for his many years of service.
In total, Suplizio served 12 years between being chief and assistant chief.
“Thank you Bubs for all you’ve done,” said new Fire Chief Joe Bigar.
DuBois City Council member Randy Schmidt had kind words for Suplizio as well.
“I learned a lot through Bubs,” said Schmidt. “You did a great job as chief.”
One member of the public also commended Suplizio. The man commented how it always amazed him how someone could put so much time and energy into being fire chief.
“Bubs, you’re definitely a lot smarter than I am,” said DuBois City Mayor John “Herm” Suplizio. “I’m better looking though.”
