CLEARFIELD – Everyone is invited to Parker Dam State Park for the Clearfield YMCA’s 30th annual Winter Family Festival this weekend.
Children’s events include a snow box derby, decorate your favorite box and bring it up to run down avalanche hill at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Prizes are awarded for best-decorated and farthest down the hill.
Sled riding will be available to all at the festival.
The first-ever ice cream eating contest begins Saturday at 9 a.m.
Sunday’s events include the Freeze your Gizzard fun run at 1 p.m. and the fifth annual polar bear swim at 3 p.m.
Judging for the snowman contest and horse-drawn sleigh rides will be at 1 p.m.
In conjunction with the YMCA’s events the state park service will have naturalistic programs all weekend.
