Fair Board Reorganizes; Gate Admission Fee News Expected Soon

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department Fair & Park Board held their annual reorganizational meeting Thursday night. Newly appointed officers are David Franson as president, Rex Fink as vice president and Brian Biancuzzo as secretary. David Hallstrom retained the office of treasurer and Greg Hallstrom will continue to serve as fair manager.

The board of directors will be attending the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs Convention Jan. 17-20 in Hershey. At the convention, directors will attend seminars, group topic discussions with other Pennsylvania fair representatives, meet with vendors and preview area entertainers as well as seek national entertainers.

The directors will also be meeting with Bates Bros. Amusements to finalize details for this year’s fair in relation to the pay-one-price for gate admission and carnival access. The fine points of this venture will be announced upon returning from convention. The directors decided to try a new direction in order to bring a quality amusement company at a fair price to the Clearfield County Fair.

“We have constantly searched for an amusement company that can provide the quality and caliber of amusement rides that our fair attendees deserve — the hardest component was finding one that also provided a fair and reasonable price to those attendees,” stated Brenda Hunter, publicity director. “We are all looking forward to Bates Brothers Amusements joining our fair and hope that the community comes and enjoys the amusement rides they will have to offer.”
