HARRISBURG, (PRNewswire-USNewswire) — Fourteen “dancing” tractors will make their Farm Show debut on Friday, Jan. 12, at the
Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg. The Tractor Square Dance will cap a week of traditional dance events at the 2007 show, which will include polka dancing, square dancing and the chicken dance.
On Jan. 12, the Roof Garden Tractor Buddies of Somerset County and the Middlecreek Swingers of Mt. Pleasant Mills will perform 45-minute shows at 10 a.m. and noon. Tractor drivers will complete the moves of their boot-stomping counterparts, complete with music and callers.
Also new to the 2007 Farm Show will be a performance by students of the Coyle School of Irish Dance on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the Sale Arena. The students, from Harrisburg and York, range from age five to 55. The schedule of dance events at the 2007 Farm Show includes:
– Square Dance Parade, Square Dance Contest and Exhibitions – Monday, Jan. 8, 6:30 p.m., Large Arena
– Polka Dance Demonstrations – Wednesday, Jan. 10, 4 p.m., Equine Arena
– Indoor Chicken Dance – Wednesday, Jan. 10, 6:45 p.m., entire complex
– Polka Competitions – Wednesday, Jan. 10, 7 p.m., Equine Arena
– Irish Dance Demonstration – Thursday, Jan. 11, 5:30 p.m., Sale Arena
– Tractor Square Dance – Friday, Jan. 12, 10 a.m. and noon, Large Arena
The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest indoor agricultural event in the nation, featuring 6,000 animals, 8,000 exhibits, hundreds of shows and events, and drawing more than 400,000 visitors.
