HARRISBURG – For the third consecutive year, Pennsylvania’s “Cabin Fever Month” lodging promotion will help thousands escape the winter doldrums without leaving the State of Independence.
“Cabin Fever Month” offers two-for-one deals at hotels, motels and bed-and-breakfasts, as well as discounts at select attractions. New this year, visitors can secure lodging in Pennsylvania’s state park cabins.
Reservations must be made through visitPA.com at participating hotels, motels, inns, bed-and-breakfasts and cabins, with prices starting at just $69 a night. To be eligible, guests must book a room for two nights. The second night is free.
“We continue to offer more and more getaway options for ‘Cabin Fever Month,’ which is one of the best lodging deals in the country during the month of January,” said Mickey Rowley, deputy secretary of tourism in the Department of Community and Economic Development. “This is the perfect time to shake the post-holiday blues and visit Pennsylvania.”
On visitPA.com, vacationers can also take advantage of customized road trips, ski Web cams, up-to-date snow reports and information on area attractions.
Special events in Pennsylvania during January include the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg (Jan. 6-13), the Fire and Ice Festival in Somerset (Jan. 12-14), the Age of Aquarius Festival and Exhibit in Butler (Jan. 26 – Feb. 23) and “The Scoop On Poop” exhibit opening Jan. 20 at The Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia (through May 13).
