Power Outages Reported Throughout the Area

CLEARFIELD COUNTY – An equipment failure at the Emeigh Substation in Morrisdale caused a power interruption for Penelec customers in the Morrisdale and West Branch area Monday evening.

According to Penelec Area Manager John Shimko, at approximately 7:08 p.m. Monday power was interrupted for about 500 people served on one of the three phases. Penelec crews were dispatched to the substation and identified the problem. In order to make the necessary repairs, all three phases were interrupted at 8:25 p.m. The equipment was replaced and all customers were restored at 9:20 p.m.

Earlier Monday, Grampian Penelec customers also experienced a power interruption. At approximately 8:10 a.m., several wires were reported down in the Hepburnia area, interrupting electrical service to about 700 customers served from the circuit. Repairs were completed at 10:55 a.m. and all customers were restored at that time.
