HARRISBURG – The Susquehanna River Basin Commission met on Tuesday in Harrisburg, and among the decision made was approval for a project application submitted by Pennsylvania-based Sunnyside Ethanol LLC.
That approval, for surface water withdrawal of up to 1.98 million gallons of water per day from the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, also includes comsuming up to 1.6 million gallons of water per day to manufacture fuel-grade ethanol and carbon dioxide at the company’s proposed Curwensville Borough plant.
The company plans to build on the former site of Howe’s Leather Co.
