BRISBIN – A motor-vehicle accident early Thursday morning caused a power outage affecting about 247 Penelec customers in the Brisbin area.
The accident occurred around 2:55 a.m. at near the intersection of Reed Street and Teutonic Avenue.
Penelec crews were called to the scene and continued to work on restoration efforts Thursday morning. The downed wires were repaired and power was restored briefly after 7 a.m.
However, one of the three nearby transformers that serve Brisbin Borough was also damaged and power continues to be out for about 90 customers while a replacement transformer is being delivered and installed.
Penelec restored power to all customers by 11:42 a.m. Thursday.
