Madera Man Waives Hearing on Multiple Drug Charges

CLEARFIELD – A man who sold cocaine and marijuana to a confidential informant waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

Brent Shaffer, 22 of Madera, faces multiple counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Shaffer also faces two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

According to the affidavits of probable cause, Shaffer sold drugs to a C.I. on Sept. 12, Oct. 4 and Oct. 17.

On Oct. 17, state police served a search warrant on Shaffer’s residence and found $13,118 in cash, a number of firearms, cocaine, marijuana and pills. It was not stated whether the guns were registered to Shaffer or not.

Shaffer is currently incarcerated in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $100,000 straight bail.
