Preschool Programs Planned at Shaw Library

CLEARFIELD – The second session of preschool programs for fall at the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library will begin the week of Nov. 6.

The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library are pleased to announce the second fall session theme for preschool programs: “Best Behaviors”. The library will once again offer the Baby Time, Toddle Time, and Story Time programs for a six-week session that begins the week of Nov. 6. Throughout the session, preschoolers will learn about manners and best behaviors.

Registration begins Monday.

Cara Artiola, youth services director, is planning two special events for this session for the preschoolers. The first will be held during the week of Thanksgiving and the second will end the session with the annual visit from Santa Claus! More details will be available at registration.

Baby Time is a half-hour program designed to introduce parents and babies 6 months to 2 years to the rewards of the library and the importance of reading to children at a young age.

The class times are: Wednesday  at 10:30 a.m. or Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Toddle Time is a 45-minute program offered for children aged 2 to 3 years, and Story Time is an hour-long class for the 3-, 4- and 5-year-olds.

Both Toddle Time and Story Time incorporate stories, finger plays, puppets, games, crafts, music and more into a program to encourage a love of reading and libraries, to promote cognitive and language development, and assist in the life long learning process.

Class times for the toddler group are: Wednesday or Thursday at 11:15 a.m. Story times are offered on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m.
