CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc.’s annual Anne S. Thacik auction will take place on Oct. 19 this year.
This is the 11th year of the event, according to Joan McMillen, marketing coordinator for CCAAA. The event begins at 6 p.m. with a silent auction.
“It’s a favorite for a lot of people,” said McMillen.
At 7:30, the live auction takes place, with Pat Errigo as the auctioneer.
Items to be auctioned include tickets to Penn State, Penguins, Steelers and Altoona Curve games, antiques, baskets, as well as many other items.
“There’s something for everybody,” said McMillen.
Proceeds from the auction will go to a bypass loading area project for the Meal Production and Distribution Center, which is where all of the Meals on Wheels meals are made for Clearfield County.
There will dessert items at the event such as chocolates, cookies, and diabetic delicacies for those who cannot partake of sugared items. Brusters Ice Cream will be available, as will coffee provided by Starbucks Coffee. Starr Hill Winery will be providing wine for the event. Starr Hill also has a unique auction opportunity. The winner of that auction will get to name and blend a wine.
The four major sponsors for the event are Comfort Keepers, Home Instead, U.P.M.C, and Clearfield Bank & Trust.
Tickets for the auction are $10. They can be purchased at the door, at the Web site, or by calling the CCAAA at 765-2696.
