DuBois Man Sentenced to State Prison

CLEARFIELD- On Tuesday, Clearfield County President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman sentenced 24-year old Earl E. Powers III of DuBois to state prison for delivering heroin to a confidential informant.

According to the affidavits of probable cause, Powers made two deliveries to a confidential informant, the first taking place on July 21, 2005, and the second on Aug. 2, 2005.  The first delivery took place in the parking lot of Fox’s Pizza in DuBois, while the second occurred in the parking of Career Link in DuBois.

Powers was one of 48 people named in a drug bust that took place in the DuBois area on June 14.

For delivery of a controlled substance, a felony charge, Powers was sentenced to five months-to-two years at a state correctional facility. He was fined $1 and ordered to pay court costs. For the second felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance, Power was placed on three years probation to run consecutive to the above sentence.
