Fatal Accident Reported on Interstate 80 Tuesday

REYNOLDSVILLE – A two-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday at 7:20 p.m. on Interstate 80 left one passenger dead, according to Pennsylvania State police DuBois.

Vehicles driven by Shelby Brown of Texas and Jeremy Barney of Shinglehouse were both traveling east on I-80. Barney was in the left lane merging for traffic in a construction zone, either traveling at slow speed or a at a complete stop.

Brown, driving a Chevy truck and pulling a trailer, failed to slow down and rammed Barney.

Brown died as a result of the accident, though no specifics were given.

Raymond Adams, also of Texas and a passenger with Brown, was air-lifted to Altoona Regional Medical Systems.

Barney was not injured.

Motor Safety Assistance Program Inspection will be done on both vehicles. I-80 was closed for four hours, and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency was notified. The construction zone was in the process of shutting down, and was after posted signs of reduced speed.

Police were assisted at the scene by PennDOT, Falls Creek Volunteer Fire and Ambulance, and Pine Creek Fire Department and Ambulance.
