Commissioners Lend Support to Chili Bowl

CLEARFIELD – Pack some antacids and take your appetite to the Expo II building at the Clearfield Driving Park Thursday for the 2006 edition of the Hospice Chili Bowl.

The annual event raised about $19,000 last year to benefit hospice, and this year’s event is looking promising as well with 50 entrants ready to cook up their best chili concoctions.

The Clearfield County Commissioners even got behind the effort this year, signing a proclamation in support of the event.

The Hospice Chili Bowl starts at 5 p.m. Thursday with things wrapping up at 9 p.m.

A butterfly release is planned for 6 p.m.

Lots of other events are planned, such as “beachy” food to go with this year’s theme — “Hang 10 For Hospice.”
