Twilight Eve Organizers Continue Making Plans

CLEARFIELD – Plans for Clearfield’s first Twilight Eve are entering the home stretch.

With just over three months left before New Year’s Eve, Tuesday morning’s meeting of organizers revealed that volunteers and monetary assistance are still needed.

As for the volunteers, people to sell 50/50 chances are needed for the event, to be held New Year’s Eve on Leonard Street. Financial help can come in the form of donations to Twilight Eve or by purchasing ice sculptures to be displayed at the event.

Organizers also discussed additional sales that could be made at the event, from hooded sweatshirts to flashlights. A suggestion was made by Joan McMillen, committee member, to sell insulated coffee mugs with the Twilight Eve logo on them. Anyone with the mug could then receive free coffee at various Leonard Street locations during the event.

Other events for New Year’s Eve include a dance, line dancers, ice throne photos, a parade and fireworks.

A king and queen and prince and princess of Twilight Eve will also be selected. Candidates will collect donations with half going to Twilight Eve and half will go to the charity of the child’s choice.

Twilight Eve’s Web site is scheduled to be put into place shortly, and more information will be available as plans are finalized.

In the immediate future, there will be a fundraiser for Twilight Eve at the Smokehouse in Curwensville Friday beginning at 10 p.m. Admission tickets will be available at the door.

The next meeting will be held at 8 a.m. Oct. 4. Organizers will begin to meet twice per month after that to finalize plans.
