Clearfield County No Longer in the Running for Senior Housing Project

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield won’t be home to a new senior housing unit. That word comes after the Clearfield County Commissioners received word Aug. 21 that the details could not be worked out for Hudson Holding and the Lutheran Service Society of Western Pennsylvania to construct a senior housing unit on lot No. 10 at the Professional Office Park on Leonard Street.

The letter also stated that the Clearfield area is no longer in contention, and neither is Clearfield County.

The $4 million project was originally intended for Allegheny County, according to a previous GantDaily article. The letter to the commissioners did not state where the project will be put into place. The project was turned down in Allegheny County previously due to public opinion.

The 35-unit home would have been constructed between Colonial Courtyard and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
