Buster\’s Finishes 4th at National Tournament

Marietta, GA — Despite the heartbreaking loss that knocked the Buster\’s Brewers out of the Men\’s Class C Fast-Pitch National Championships, they placed better than any local team before them (bettering the 17th place of Bob Boob Garage a few years ago).

The final game was a gut wrenching, see-saw battle that ended in a disappointing 10-9 extra inning loss to the Duncan (IN) Outlaws, 10-9. Down one run heading to the home half of the 7th inning, Kevin Billotte lead off with a triple. He was still there 2 outs later. Brandon Billotte got the clutch hit to tie the game.

In the top of the 8th, the Outlaws, with 2 outs, were able to get 2 on the board via the long ball. Buster\’s fought back to score in the bottom of the 8th on an RBI double by Todd Schickling. Unfortunately, the game ended with the bases loaded.

The Outlaws would be eliminated in their loser\’s bracket final by the Allentown Patriots.

The Allentown Patriots then beat the Toolshed (NY) 4-2 to force a one game championship. The Toolshed bounced back to claim the National Championship, 13-3.

Buster\’s finished the tournament 4-2, losing only to the 2nd and 3rd place teams.

Notes:
Buster\’s was able to score 53 runs in 6 games…..Jerry \”Jerk\” Watson pitched every inning of the 6 games….Kevin Billotte, Brandon Billotte, and Jerry Watson were named to the Nationals All-Tournament team
