Route 879 Work Begins Wednesday

CLEARFIELD – PennDOT’s state Route 879 project in Clearfield is continuing on schedule, with night-time work set to start next week.

Crews will begin night-time milling, paving and pipe work on Wednesday. Work will take place along SR 879 between River Road and the Wal-Mart entrance between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. The state Department of Transportation expects the night-time operation to be in place for the next two to three weeks, with all work weather-dependent.

Drivers could experience short delays as they move through the work zone. Flaggers will be in place as traffic alternates turns through the area.

PennDOT expects the entire project to be complete in November. The contractor on the $5.5 million project is HRI, Inc.

PennDOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, follow detour directions and signs, obey posted speed limits, and to always buckle up.
