Second Man Involved in Hot Dog Theft Waives Hearing

CLEARFIELD – How do you like yours, ketchup, mustard, or stolen?

Another man involved with the theft of hot dogs and other items from the Frenchville Little League waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

It is alleged that Donald Eugene Pearsall II and others broke into the concession. Investigators talked with those involved and learned that they gained entry by using a truck to break the door to the stand open. Pearsall and the others then entered and filled a 32-gallon garbage can up with Gatorade, hot dogs, French fries, and other items.

While Pearsall denied involvement with the robbery. However, another man involved in the robbery, Jason Ray McGonigal, told officers that Pearsall was involved. McGonigal waived his right to a preliminary hearing on August 23.

A search of McGonigal’s garage yielded a six-pound box of hot dogs, four five-pound bags of French fries, and assorted cans of soda. Also discovered was the trash can used to carry the items out of the concession stand.

Pearsall is charged with burglary, criminal conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and criminal mischief.

Pearsall’s bail was set at $5,000 unsecured. He also has an unrelated drug case pending in Clearfield County Court.
