Clearfield Schools Ready for New Year; Other Schools’ First Day Noted

CLEARFIELD – The smell of a fresh notebook and the crispness of a brand new pair of jeans is beginning to run through Central Pennsylvania as area schools get ready to start a new year.

Clearfield Area School District is just one of several that starts classes Wednesday, and Dr. Denise Keltz, superintendent, said the faculty and staff is ready.

“The theme this year is ‘Yes, We Can!'” said Keltz.

“We’re facing some tough times in the district with regard to declining enrollment,” she said, adding that the district’s new campaign will see them partnering with several area agencies to keep students in the Clearfield area after graduation.

Keltz noted that the adults in the district, including teachers, administrators and support staff, play an integral role with helping students to do their best.

Some area schools have already hit the books for the year; others are set to begin very soon. First days for other school districts are listed below.
