Stolen Wallet? Stolen Car? Report Has Police Sorting Out Stories

CLEARFIELD – During the weekend, Lawrence Township Police received a call that a Bronx, N.Y., man’s wallet had been stolen. Officers soon learned that not only was the wallet not stolen, but he didn’t tell police how his property got inside the car in the first place.

The man called police to say that a Detroit woman had stolen his wallet and would be exiting Interstate 80 at exit 120 to go to McDonald’s during the weekend. Officers spotted the vehicle and  learned that the Bronx man had previously stolen the woman’s car. She had just traveled to New York to pick up her vehicle, but the New York man had left his wallet inside.

Officers said the woman’s vehicle was stolen from Detroit.

No charges were filed in the incident.
