Armed Robbery in Lawrence Township; Police Investigate

CLEARFIELD – A man who was in Clearfield to purchase illegal drugs reported to Lawrence Township Police that he was robbed at knife point early Wednesday morning.

Lawrence Township Police reported responding to an armed robbery call at about 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers were called to the parking lot of a Wolf Run business located along state Route 879. When police arrived, they spoke with a New York resident who said he was in Clearfield to purchase illegal drugs.

The man reported finding another male at a local business, and the unknown male said he would be able to purchase the man some illegal drugs for $30.

The New York resident agreed, but the unknown male saw the other man had $130 in his possession.

The unknown male reportedly produced a large knife and demanded all of the New York man’s money before fleeing in a green vehicle.

Officers advised the New York man that purchasing illegal substances in Pennsylvania is illegal. He replied that he was sorry, but he just wanted his money back.

The investigation continues.
