Four Teenagers Involved in Motor Vehicle Accidnt in Boggs Township

BOGGS TOWNSHIP – Four teenagers were involved in a motor vehicle accident on Friday night.

A vehicle driven by 18-year old Justin Harzinski of Philipsburg was traveling west on Long Run Road. Police report that Harzinski lost control of his vehicle while rounding a left-hand bend in the road. The vehicle traveled onto the berm then went into a spin and struck a large tree. The vehicle bounced off of the tree and ended up on its roof in the middle of th roadway.

Passengers Nick Dittman, 18 of Philipsburg, and John Butler, 18 of Osceola Mills, were able to get out of the vehicle, but Harzinski and passenger Samantha Rinehart, 18 of Wallaceton, were trapped in the car.

Fire and rescue personel from area fire departments used the jaws of life to free both Harzinski and Rinehart, who were both in serious condition.

Harzinski and Rinehart were flown to Altoona Regional Health System and Dittman and Butler were were taken to Clearfield Hospital by emergency medical services. Dittman and Butler were reported to have moderate injuries.
