CLEARFIELD – Lawrence Township Police received a report of a possible scam. A township resident received a letter by mail that stated she won a large sum of money.
The company also sent a check, which they wanted cashed. The company then wanted the resident to return a large sum of cash back as the processing fee. After receiving the processing fee, the company claims that it will then send the rest of the prize money.
Police are continuing the investigation into the validity of the company.
