New sign coming to Lawrence Township

CLEARFIELD – At the request of Lawrence Township residents, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will place a radar-controlled speed display sign along the O’Shanter/Glen Richey Highway, near the Glen Richey firehall. The speed display sign will remain on location for about one week and will register the speed of vehicles traveling on the O’Shanter/Glen Richey Highway.

The speed display sign uses radar and determines the speed of oncoming traffic. Those vehicle speeds are then posted on the lighted section of the speed display sign. Above the speed display is another sign showing the posted speed limit for that section of O’Shanter/Glen Richey Highway.

The Lawrence Township Police will be monitoring the section of the O’Shanter/Glen Richey Highway where the speed display sign is located.
