Clearfield Borough wins funding for parks

HARRISBURG – Clearfield Borough is the recipient of $18,500 in grant monies to develop a master site plan for a 10-acre riverfront recreation area.

State Rep. Camille “Bud” George, D-74 of Houtzdale, made the announcement and said, “The site plan for the park along the Susquehanna River in Clearfield envisions an access and parking areas, a walking trail, landscaping and recreation facilities.”

The grants are administered by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources through its Community Conservation Partnership Program. They are funded, in part, by the Growing Greener environmental stewardship funds.

● Snow Shoe Rails-to-Trails Association, $26,400 to purchase a tractor and attachments to maintain the trail in Cooper Township, Clearfield County, and Rush and Snow Shoe townships, Centre County.
