Traffic shift planned for U.S. 219 project

CLEARFIELD – U.S. Route 219 roadwork is continuing just north of DuBois, with a traffic shift scheduled for Monday.

At that time, traffic will shift onto a temporary road in the section between Stone Side Village and the Frito Lay warehouse (approximately one-half mile).Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the project, but a one-way traffic pattern would be in place should roadwork progress and activities require it. A one-way traffic pattern would feature flaggers to aid traffic flow and delays would be expected.

The contractor on the $5.8 million job is HRI. Inc., and the state Department of Transportation expects the entire project to be complete by mid-November. All work is weather-dependent.

PennDOT reminds motorists to drive with caution through this and all work zones, obey posted speed limits, and to always buckle up.
