In the 1870’s J. Robison and Sons of Curwensville began building Tread Power machines which was ultimately a tread mill for one or two horses that used gear reduction to power agricultural and forestry equipment. Recently one of these original pieces of equipment was returned to the Curwensville-Pike Township Historical Society as a gift from the Worchester Historical Society.
