CLEARFIELD – Roadway work will begin next week along U.S. Route 322 (Port Mountain), just west of the village of Port Matilda.
The week of May 7 will feature set-up work and traffic control. Lane restrictions will be in place. When full activity begins, work will be mainly on three and a half miles of the westbound lanes. Work will also be located in the eastbound lanes at the bottom of the mountain. One lane travel each direction will remain in place throughout the project.
Work will include concrete patching, roadway overlay, structure rehabilitation and guide rail replacement.
The contractor on the $2.4 million job is Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College.
PennDOT expects the project to be complete in late October, with all work weather-dependent.
PennDOT reminds drivers to move through work zones with caution, obey posted speed limits and to always buckle up.
