PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Two semi-truck drivers escaped injury following a collision on Interstate 80 in Pine Creek Township on Sunday evening.
According to a report from the Pennsylvania State Police in DuBois, the crash occurred at 5:38 p.m. on August 2 in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 near mile marker 83.8 in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.
State police reported that a driver was operating a 2017 Freightliner semi-truck eastbound in the left lane of travel. Traveling in the right lane was a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia. Neither driver was identified in the report.
The collision unfolded as traffic in the right eastbound lane began to slow down for stopped traffic, police said. The driver of the 2022 Freightliner slowed his vehicle accordingly. The driver of the 2017 Freightliner attempted to move from the left travel lane into the right travel lane, but was unable to stop in time and struck the 2022 Freightliner, according to the report.
No injuries were reported from the crash.
