CLEARFIELD, PA — The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre (CAST) invites audiences to experience the glamour, heartbreak, and unforgettable music of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s acclaimed musical Sunset Boulevard, opening June 19.
Directed by Brandi Billotte with music direction by Evan Forcey, Sunset Boulevard tells the story of Joe Gillis, a struggling Hollywood screenwriter who finds himself entangled in the life of Norma Desmond, a faded silent film star desperately longing for a return to fame. As Joe becomes drawn into Norma’s world, he must navigate ambition, romance, and the consequences of living in the past.
Filled with humor, romance, tragedy, and one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most celebrated scores, Sunset Boulevard explores themes of love, loss, aging, and the pursuit of dreams.
Performances will be held June 19-20 and June 25-27 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance on June 21 at 3:00 p.m.
Tickets are $17 and may be purchased online at ClearfieldArts.org, at the CAST office on Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., or at the box office beginning 30 minutes prior to each performance.
Audience members should be aware that the production contains flashing lights, brief violence, and mild language.
During intermission, patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy popcorn, candy, and other refreshments available by donation to support the CAST Scholarship Fund. In addition, CAST will host an art auction featuring works by local artists, with proceeds benefiting CAST’s educational and artistic programming.
CAST’s production features a talented local cast and crew who have spent months bringing this iconic Broadway musical to life. With stunning performances, memorable music, and a compelling story, Sunset Boulevard promises an unforgettable evening of live theatre.
