FALLS CREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — State police say a DuBois man was hospitalized with facial injuries after crashing his electric bicycle in Falls Creek Borough on Monday afternoon.
According to a report by Pennsylvania State Police from the DuBois barracks, the crash occurred on May 4 at 4:05 p.m. in front of a residence on Washington Avenue in Falls Creek Borough, Jefferson County.
Police reported that Kurt A. Odgers, 39, of DuBois, was traveling east on the right shoulder of Washington Avenue on a 2025 Moto Electric Vehicle Florida e-bike. Upon arrival to the scene, troopers said they observeded Odgers receiving medical attention on the shoulder of the roadway.
State police said that as Odgers was traveling east, the vehicle’s front braking system engaged, causing the bicycle to pitch forward. The sudden stop threw Rogers over the handlebars and onto the pavement.
Odgers suffered injuries to his facial area and was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois by Amserv Ltd. DuSan Ambulance, according to the report.
The electric bicycle was removed from the scene by a co-worker of Odgers.
Assisting troopers at the scene were the Falls Creek Fire Department and Amserv Ltd. DuSan Ambulance.
