WILLIAMSBURG — Addison Siple was nearly perfect in Tuesday’s game against Williamsburg as she struck out all but one batter she faced in Curwensville’s 16-0 mercy rule win over the Lady Pirates.
Siple fanned 12 batters and issued one walk to give Williamsburg its only base runner in the four-inning victory. Siple also fired a no-hitter against Williamsburg earlier in the season in a 10-0, five inning win.
Curwensville’s offense gave Siple plenty of support, piling up 16 hits, including three doubles, a triple and two home runs.
Siple, Eliza Aughenbaugh and Addison Warren all had three hits for the Lady Tide. Siple hit a 2-run homer in the third that gave Curwensville a 9-0 lead and ended her day with four runs scored and three RBIs.
Aughenbaugh hit an RBI triple in the second just a few batters after Warren led off with a solo shot. Aughenbaugh scored two runs and knocked in three, while Warren hit a double to go with her home run and recorded three runs and two RBIs.
Addyson Neiwsender added a double and three RBIs with Briah Peoples also smacking a double to go with two RBIs. Ava Hainsey scored two runs and drove in two.
The win was the fourth in a row for the Lady Tide, who improved to 9-5 overall and 6-2 in the Inter County Conference North.
Curwensville hosts Glendale on Wednesday.
