PennWest University to Hold Spring 2026 Commencement Ceremonies Across Three Campuses

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — PennWest University will celebrate more than 1,800 graduates during its spring 2026 commencement ceremonies May 9 at its California, Clarion and Edinboro campuses, according to university officials.

Ceremonies at all three campuses are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., according to information released by the university. The events will recognize undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral candidates from across PennWest’s campuses and its Global Online program, according to the release.

University officials said the morning ceremonies will honor graduates from the College of Health Sciences and Human Services, while the afternoon ceremonies will recognize students from the College of Education, Arts and Humanities and the Eberly College of Science, Technology and Business.

At PennWest California, ceremonies will take place in the Convocation Center. Dr. James D. Fisher, interim provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, will deliver greetings on behalf of the president and confer degrees, according to the release. Barry Niccolai, a member of the PennWest Council of Trustees, will provide trustee remarks during the morning ceremony, while student trustee Tyrique Whitson will speak in the afternoon.

Jordan Wiedman, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, will deliver the morning student address, while Caitlyn Egan, also a Criminal Justice graduate, will speak in the afternoon, according to officials.

At the Clarion campus, ceremonies will be held in Tippin Gymnasium. PennWest President Dr. Jon Anderson will deliver remarks and confer degrees at both ceremonies, according to the university. Neil Weaver, a member of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education Board of Governors, will also speak.

JD Dunbar, chair of the PennWest Council of Trustees, will provide trustee greetings in the morning, while student trustee Timothy John will speak in the afternoon. Karsten Kadylak, who earned an Associate of Science in Nursing, will deliver the morning student address. Caleigh Aigler, a Business Administration in Economics graduate, will speak in the afternoon.

At PennWest Edinboro, ceremonies will be held in McComb Fieldhouse. James Geiger, vice president for University Advancement, will deliver greetings on behalf of the president and confer degrees, according to the release. Trustee Pat Kennedy will provide morning remarks, and student trustee Aiden Dougan will speak in the afternoon.

Chelsea Weimer, who earned a Master of Science in Speech Pathology, will deliver the morning student address. Kendal Mumaw, a Secondary Education graduate, will speak in the afternoon, according to officials.
