INDIANA, Pa. (EYT) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Bridging Pennsylvania Constructors have announced several upcoming traffic changes for Interstate 80 westbound in Jefferson County as part of the North Fork Bridges Project.
A lane closure is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. Sunday, May 10, just east of Richardsville Road to accommodate paving operations. The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately seven days. During this period, crews will also perform guiderail replacement near Jenks Street, which will require extending the lane closure through the work zone for one day.
Immediately following the completion of the paving work, a traffic pattern switch will be implemented. Westbound traffic will be shifted to the right onto temporary pavement for approximately 4,000 feet. This shift will allow for construction work in the median to prepare for future phases of the project.
The North Fork Bridges project involves the replacement of eastbound and westbound bridges over Jenks Street and the replacement of the Richardsville Road bridges over I-80. The project is expected to be completed in summer 2028.
All work is weather dependent. Motorists are advised to use caution, follow posted speed limits and watch for workers and equipment in the work zone. Drivers can monitor real-time conditions by visiting www.511PA.com.
