BELLEFONTE — The Clearfield Lady Bison softball team took to the road on Monday, the start of five games on the docket for the week, and were shut out by the Bellefonte Lady Raiders 4-0. It was the fourth time this season Clearfield has been shut out, as their season record dipped to 6-8, and Bellefonte’s was raised to 7-7.
The visitors only managed two hits on the afternoon – singles by Aevril Hayward and Ellie McBride.
The tough luck loser in the circle was Joell Henry, who only allowed two earned runs, while giving up seven hits, six of them singles, walked two and struck out three.
Adrienne Masullo went the distance for the win, walking one and striking out four along with the two hits that she gave up.
Ella Herr and Riley Santostefano each had two hits for the winners, with Herr driving in two runs, and Santostefano hitting a double for the lone extra base hit in the game, and scoring twice.
The Lady Bison will host Bradford (1-11) on Senior Recognition Night on Tuesday.
