BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A structure fire along Main Street in Brookville prompted a multi-department response early Sunday morning, temporarily shutting down part of the downtown area as crews worked to contain the blaze.
According to Jefferson County 911, the call came in at approximately 6:40 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find active fire conditions, with heavy smoke, and began an aggressive response to bring the situation under control. According to Brookville Fire Company, all occupants were out upon arrival.
Fire departments from Brookville, Pine Creek, Summerville, Brockway, Reynoldsville, and Sykesville were all dispatched to the scene. Crews operated for several hours, with the scene officially cleared at 10:05 a.m. according to Jefferson County 911.
Main Street was closed during the incident as emergency responders worked on scene.
Brookville Fire Chief Scott Minich told exploreJefferson.com that the fire remains under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit.
A social media update from Pink Flamingos Vintage, a business housed on the first floor of the building, indicated that fire crews worked quickly to help salvage inventory from inside the building.

“My shop has been cleared thanks to a handful of wonderful people who assembled quickly and enthusiastically,” the business shared. “The fire departments really tried to salvage as much as they could by quickly moving stock and putting tarps over everything. You really saved a huge bulk of my inventory, and I am forever thankful!”
Brookville Fire Department thanked all the responding agencies and praised their efforts in containing the fire.
