DUBOIS- On National Doctors’ Day, March 30, 2026, the Pennsylvania Medical Society presented a Certificate of Recognition to Mohamed Hassan, MD, a neonatologist with the Penn Highlands DuBois Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), in honor of his outstanding dedication to patient care.

In accepting the award, Dr. Hassan showed the humility for which he is known for throughout the hospital and the community.

“I do the best I can for our precious patients. In the NICU, we help the babies and their families during very stressful times with love and compassion,” explained Dr. Hassan.

Many of the members of the NICU Team were present during the presentation along with Dr. Hassan’s wife and relatives.

Penn Highlands DuBois offers a 16-bed NICU which is the only NICU in the region – the nearest one is 100 miles away.
