KERSEY– North Central Pennsylvania, Workforce Solutions for North Central PA, the Workforce Development Board serving Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean, and Potter counties, is actively recruiting employers from all industries to participate in a regional Career Pathway Mapping Project designed to highlight the strong career opportunities available throughout North Central Pennsylvania.

Through PA Six Careers, a regional career exploration website used by schools, educators, students, parents, and workforce partners, employers can create a company profile, showcase their organization, and outline internal career pathways and long-term advancement opportunities at no cost. The platform serves as an educational resource that connects classrooms to local industry, helping students better understand real career options available in their own communities.

This initiative focuses on mapping internal career progression within participating organizations. Employers can easily establish a profile and enter their own career pathways directly into the system, identifying entry-level positions, advancement steps, required credentials and skills, and long-term mobility within their company. Workforce Solutions staff are available to offer assistance and guidance to any employer who would like support in developing or refining their pathway of information. Rather than serving as a job board, PA Six Careers functions as a workforce education tool that increases awareness of career pathways and supports informed career decision-making.

“In today’s competitive labor market, employers need more than job postings, they need visibility,” said Pam Streich, Executive Director of Workforce Solutions. “PA Six Careers allows companies to tell their story, illustrate advancement opportunities, and show future employees that long-term careers are available right here in our region.” “PA Six Careers is a workforce tool built with employers in mind,” said Donna Hottel, Strategic Planning and Project Manager for Workforce Solutions. “When businesses clearly demonstrate growth opportunities, they attract motivated candidates who are looking for long-term careers, not just a job.”

By participating, employers elevate their regional visibility while helping schools integrate real-world career information into lesson plans, career exploration activities, and guidance counseling efforts. The site is regularly used by educators to connect directly with local employers, strengthen business-education partnerships, and provide students with meaningful insight into high-demand occupations across multiple industries.

This effort supports long-term workforce sustainability by helping students and job seekers clearly see the training, credentials, and advancement steps needed to build careers locally. Employers also benefit by strengthening their talent pipeline, reinforcing their commitment to community engagement, and positioning their organization as a leader in workforce development.

Employers interested in participating in the Career Pathway Mapping Project are encouraged to contact Workforce Solutions at 814-245-1835 to learn more or visit the site at www.pasixcareers.com to get started.
