BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A Reynoldsville woman is facing a felony charge after state police allege she failed to update her address and employment information as required under Pennsylvania’s sex offender registration law, according to a criminal complaint filed in Jefferson County.
Kaitlyn Hope Snyder, 33, is charged with failing to provide accurate registration information, a felony of the third degree, according to court records filed through Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Brandon T. Johnston of the Pennsylvania State Police, Snyder was subject to registration requirements under Megan’s Law and was required to report changes to her address.
The complaint alleges that on February 2, state police received information that Snyder was no longer residing at her registered address in Reynoldsville and had been terminated from her employment in Greensburg.
According to the affidavit, police determined Snyder had relocated to an address in Brockport but did not update her address within the required timeframe. The complaint also alleges Snyder failed to notify authorities that her employment in Greensburg had ended, and that she had changed phone numbers.
On February 2, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Snyder was located standing next to her vehicle in the Falls Creek Sheetz parking lot, according to the affidavit. The complaint states she was detained and agreed to answer questions.
According to the affidavit, Snyder acknowledged she had spent very little time at her Reynoldsville address, and had been staying at the Brockport address for about a week.
According to the report, the general manager of Snyder’s previous place of employment confirmed that she was terminated on January 9.
According to PA Megan’s Law, Snyder is a Tier 1 offender. A Tier 1 sexual offender must register for 15 years and is required to appear annually.
Court records show Snyder was committed to the Jefferson County Jail after being unable to post bail. Bail was set at $25,000 monetary, according to the docket.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 17 at 2:05 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana, according to court records.
