CANOE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — PSP Punxsutawney recently investigated a hit-and-run crash after a driver lost control of a vehicle Sunday afternoon on Central Street in Canoe Township, Indiana County.
Police reported the crash occurred on February 8 at approximately 2:12 p.m. on Central Street.
State police said the vehicle, which was not identified in the report, was traveling southbound on Central Street and attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve when the driver lost control and crossed the double yellow lines.
The vehicle continued off the right-hand side of the roadway and into a snowbank. Police said the vehicle then traveled through the snowbank and struck a sign on the right side of the road before returning to Central Street and proceeding southbound toward Rossiter Borough.
The driver was also not identified in the report.
Police determined the crash was the result of the driver failing to maintain the proper lane of travel and traveling too fast for conditions due to slippery roads at the time of the crash.
