Diana Lynn Kost, 75, a resident at the DuBois Nursing Home, died on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Born on January 30, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and E. Jean Feldman Puhala.
She was married to Steven Kost and he preceded her in death on November 6, 2003.
Retired, Diana had been employed at the former DuBois Regional Medical Center, now Penn Highlands DuBois, as an LPN, from 1982 until her retirement in 2017. She was a parishioner at Trinity Lutheran Church in DuBois. Diana was an emergency medical technician spanning decades with both the Brockway and the Sykesville ambulance associations. Diana also loved all animals, owning many dogs and regularly donating to many animal shelters and service organizations. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Traci (Mike) McGillicuddy of Annadale, VA; a son, David Town of Cranberry Twp, PA; sisters, Ruth Joy Keister and Peggy Thompson, both of Brockway; and brothers, George (Sandy) Puhala and Joseph (Frances) Puhala, also both of Brockway; five grandchildren: Julian Town, Nicholas Town, Katie McGillicuddy, Michael McGillicuddy and Neve McGillicuddy.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Gregory Allen Town; and a brother, Tommy Puhala.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 12 from 6-8 p.m. at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13 also at the funeral home, with Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Sykesville. Donations in memory of may be made to the Gateway Humane Society, PO Box 678, Falls Creek, PA 15840.
