RENOVO — The Curwensville girls basketball team made the trip to Renovo a couple days earlier than planned as heating issues continue to plague the school district.
The Lady Tide were to host Bucktail Monday at Patton Hall and travel to face the Lady Bucks Thursday, but the heating problems caused a change in plans.
Curwensville instead made the trip to Bucktail Monday and fell by a 43-32 decision as Lady Buck Kelsie Wagner netted 23 points to lead all players.
Addison Warren netted nine for the Lady Tide, while Briah Peoples scored eight.
Bucktail led 11-9 after one quarter and took a 25-17 advantage to the break. Curwensville kept it close in the third, outscoring Bucktail 10-7 to cut the deficit to 32-27. But the hosts pulled away in the fourth.
Curwensville slipped to 2-15 with the loss.
The Lady Tide are scheduled to host West Branch Tuesday, Feb. 3, but the heating problems in the gymnasium may cause the date or venue to change.
There are also tentative plans to play Bucktail next week at Patton Hall, but that is not yet official.
